PRESS RELEASE
New Americana Films Receives Funding for Seven Films
Economic Woes lead to "Feel Good" Films
Movie Goers Seek Uplifting Films
Oregon based New Americana Motion Pictures announced today receipt of an eight figure funding package from Hollywood East Film Finance LLC to produce seven of the twelve titles owned by New Americana.
New Americana's president Don Campeau notes that when the economy stumbles, movie goers head for uplifting family films and partially credits the bad economy for the funding. "Our slate of films is fantastic but our timing is equally fortunate. Uplifting family films have been the big performers during every US economic downturn since 1929" noted Campeau, a 25 year industry veteran. He adds that people want to "feel good" during economic troubles and are ready ticket buyers for optimistic films, New Americana's specialty is Inspiration through storytelling.
Hollywood East Film Finance was created in 2008 to fill the mid-budget level niche left undeserved by the big studios whose business model requires the all-or-nothing mega budget formula films, almost without exception. Financial Entrepreneur and Hollywood East founder Chandler Foster approached Campeau to be the new fund's initial film slate investment and concluded a deal two months later. Foster's background includes postings at Chase Manhattan and Citibank.
New Americana's opening project is slated to be a co-venture deal with Director Penny Marshall's company Mainpix for the title "Gallaudet", based on a true story. Gallaudet is the premier US liberal arts university for the deaf. The film is scheduled for production in June. Other titles are also based on what Campeau calls "Life's good lessons and the heroic struggles we all go through, and through which we uplift one another."
Further funding is pending for the family-friendly New Americana Motion Pictures and its additional package. With the seven film slate New Americana now ranks among the Northwest's top five motion picture companies for 2008.
